Citizens Protesting Anti-semitic Acts, Billings, Montana

In 1994, Mr. Frédéric Brenner, famed French photographer, was inspired to travel to Billings after learning about the courageous actions taken by town citizens to fight anti-semitism. While there, he took this renowned photograph.

Billings, 1993

These images appeared in the Billings Gazette during the fall and winter of 1993. They illustrate some of the pivotal events that occurred in Billings, both before the rock was thrown through young Isaac Schnitzer's bedroom window and later, as the community rallied against hate crimes.
